How BreakingPoint Tested the Juniper SRX5800
The original Juniper SRX5800 test illustrates the importance of high-performance, realistic testing. The first Juniper SRX5800 test included:
- Stateful blended application traffic
- Realistic bandwidth and throughput abilities
- Live security strikes
- Single testing interface, configuration and reporting
Additional Juniper SRX5800 Testing Details
BreakingPoint conducted the test of the Juniper Networks SRX with a single configuration of six BreakingPoint Elite blades, all managed from a single user interface and producing integrated reports. A single BreakingPoint Elite generates up to 20 Gbps per blade of Layer 4-7 traffic and 40 Gbps of Layer 2/3 traffic per blade.

BreakingPoint used blended stateful Layer 4-7 application traffic to test the SRX5800, not simply relying on HTTP or one application protocol at a time. BreakingPoint provides more than 75 stateful application protocols including HTTP, SMTP, AOL® IM, FIX, IBM DB2, VMware® VMotionTM, Microsoft® CIFS/SMB, MAPI, Oracle, Encrypted BitTorrent™, eDonkey, RADIUS, SIP, Windows Live Messenger, World of Warcraft®, Yahoo!® Messenger, and many others.
BreakingPoint tested the Juniper SRX 5800 using live security strikes. BreakingPoint testing tools allow you to modify and create difficult-to-detect network security attacks to expose vulnerabilities using 4,200+ security strikes and 80+ evasion techniques. Juniper Networks SRX5800 Services Gateway became the first network device tested with over 100 Gbps of blended Layer 4-7 application traffic.
Today's high-performance network equipment, including Juniper's SRX5800, must be tested using realistic throughput, stateful blended applications and live security strikes.
