Case Study
Testing the Juniper SRX
The Juniper SRX Services Gateways consolidate switching, routing and security services into a single device. Juniper created the SRX series in order for organizations to more cost-effectively deliver new applications and services, secure connectivity, and enhance the quality of end-user experiences. In order to evaluate the performance, security, and stability of the Juniper SRX an organization must simulate their actual network traffic conditions including:
- Stateful application traffic ranging from business applications such as email and database transactions to social networks such as Facebook and Twitter.
- Live security attacks, obfuscations, evasions, and even malformed packets.
- Maximum user load.
Evaluating the Juniper SRX
Global organizations use BreakingPoint devices to evaluate the Juniper SRX prior to deployment. Using BreakingPoint companies can simulate their exact network traffic conditions including stateful applications, live security attacks, and user load. In live evaluations of the Juniper SRX using BreakingPoint products the following results have been achieved:
- Juniper Networks SRX5800 Services Gateway was the first network device tested with more than 100 Gbps of blended Layer 4-7 application traffic - an order of magnitude increase in processing speed compared to traditional firewalls.
- The SRX Services Gateways met or exceeded product performance specification of 120 Gbps firewall and 30 Gbps intrusion prevention throughput.
The following video demonstrates more of the Juniper SRX evaluations:
