Interop 2011: What Happens in Vegas...the Video Edition

by Evan Guthrie

best of interop 2011After seeing more than a thousand people pass through our booth last week during Interop 2011, I wanted to provide a quick recap of the event. During the show we had several of our customers, including Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, Crossbeam, and others, give live demonstrations and presentations. Our booth was almost always full of people due to these customer presentations, as well as live demonstrations of our capabilities, from application load testing and DoS simulation to LTE testing and cloud validation. Below you'll find pictures, slide presentations from customers, and video from the show floor.

BreakingPoint FireStorm CTM: Best Of Interop 2011

We made several news announcements at Interop 2011, which my colleague Tim recapped last week. These included our Data Centerbest of interop 2011 Resiliency Test Lab, our advanced Layer2/3 testing functionality, and much more. These innovations were one of the many reasons the BreakingPoint FireStorm CTM was named "Best of Interop". The award is a testament to the unbelievable vision and talent of our team of engineers. It also was a hot topic on the show floor, driving lots of people to our booth -- not to mention the media.

Below you can watch an in-depth interview with Scott Register, our Director of Product Management, with TMC.net. In the interview, Scott discusses why the BreakingPoint FireStorm CTM won this award, some of the news announced at the show, and more:

Live Testing and Customer Presentations

As I mentioned, another reason our booth was full so often were the presentations that some of our great customers gave on firewall testing, device evaluation techniques, high-performance validation, and more. You can look through two of these presentations below.

At the show, Fortinet’s Alex Samonte not only presented each day on testing enterprise firewalls, but also demonstrated the FortiGate 3950B. Fortinet also announced during the show that their device achieved a Resiliency Score of 95, the highest ever published!

We were also fortunate to have Chris Morosco from Cisco in the booth to talk about the Catalyst 6500 ASA Service Module. Chris joined BreakingPoint’s own Mike Hamilton to perform a live test of the ASA Service Module, which was made up of four ASA 5585x security blades in a Catalyst 6500 switch.

Thanks to everyone on the BreakingPoint team for making this such a successful show, to our customers who presented in our booth and provided us with their equipment for live demonstrations, and to all of you who came to the booth. If you were not able to make it to Interop 2011, you can shoot me a note so we can set up a personalized demo of our latest product enhancements for you.
