ATI Updates and BreakingPoint Evergreen Applications Program
by Todd ManningWe recently announced the BreakingPoint Evergreen Applications Program. If you missed the news, I'll briefly summarize. The BreakingPoint Evergreen Applications Program is an expansion of our existing Application and Threat Intelligence (ATI) service that aims to keep current the most popular web and network application protocols. The Evergreen Applications Program furthers BreakingPoint's mission in having the most realistic, and now, up-to-date application protocols available.
The most recent ATI Update, 69939, is available for users of the BreakingPoint Storm CTM running firmware 2.0. This ATI Update is the first to ship updates for the Evergreen Applications Program. ATI Update 69939 provides users with updates to AOL Webmail, ICQ 7.1, Windows Live Messenger (MSN Messenger) 14.0.8117, and Yahoo! Messenger v10. Forthcoming updates for AOL Messaging, Gmail, MSN Hotmail, and Yahoo! Mail will be delivered in a future ATI update. Additional protocol updates include RTSP, SIP, H.245, SMTP, SunRPS, and the Custom Application Toolkit.
This ATI update also adds 18 new strikes, including coverage for a recent Adobe Acrobat Reader vulnerability (CoolType.dll), a recent Adobe Flash Player vulnerability, coverage for the recent Microsoft Windows DLL Loading vulnerability, and a classic from the "This-Old-Vulnerability" pile, the Ping-of-Death.
ATI Updates and release notes are available via the BreakingPoint StrikeCenter.
