Company Overview

BreakingPoint is the content-aware testing systems company that is reinventing application, performance and security testing. The company was founded in 2005 by engineers experienced in developing and testing high speed networking devices at NetWorth, Netspeed, Cisco, TippingPoint and 3Com.

The idea for BreakingPoint came to us in our past lives as network equipment developers, when we tested hardware before it was ready for primetime and realized we could never be sure of how our products would perform in the real world…what was their “breaking point”.  We decided to build the best, most powerful testing systems ourselves.  As testing moves up the stack from Layer 2 to Layer 7 we know testing, from R&D to QA, needs to be prepared for more dynamic network and application conditions.

Today, BreakingPoint delivers the only test platform powerful enough to deliver truly authentic composite business, recreational and malicious application traffic, resulting in truly accurate testing of DPI and content-aware devices.  For the first time, network equipment manufacturers have access to all the components for today’s complex and dynamic test environment in a single, easy to use device. • BreakingPoint BPS 10K: The BreakingPoint BPS 10K application and network equipment testing platform is an all-in-one application, performance and security testing platform designed specifically for content-aware networks and network equipment. The BreakingPoint BPS 10K was the first testing product to enable speeds of 10 Gigabits per second of Layer 4-7 traffic and 40 Gigabits per second of Layer 2-3 trafffic.
